Suzanna Randall is fascinated by the boundless and unknown. She is inspired by a different view of things, especially from a bird's eye view. The astrophysicist strives for new insights, wants to discover foreign worlds and be the first German woman to fly into space. Since 2018, she has been preparing intensively for a stay on the ISS. There she wants to carry out physiological experiments and investigate the effects of weightlessness on the female organism. As a passionate natural scientist who grew up bilingually, is a team player, in good health and athletic, she already fulfils many of the requirements for this mission. In her professional life, the Rhinelander also looks to the future - to galaxies and planetary systems. At the ESO in Garching near Munich, she explores pulsating stars with one of the largest telescopes on Earth: ALMA.
Since 2020, Suzanna Randall has been presenting scientific topics on the ZDF YouTube channel "TerraX Lesch & Co". She wants to inspire young people - especially women - for MINT subjects. Her commitment is expressed in many lectures, articles, interviews and soon a book.
In her free time, Suzanna Randall enjoys paragliding, diving and travelling, yoga and playing the piano.

NEWS
Thanks to the initiative "Die Astronautin", two German women are preparing for a research mission to the ISS for the first time. Suzanna Randall and Insa Thiele-Eich want children and young people to take part in the greatest adventure of their lives. In their second book, they tell how a rocket takes off and what dangers there can be in the course of a flight. They want to arouse the interest of girls in particular and get them excited about science, technology and all STEM subjects. The children's book "Adventure Rocket Launch" was published by Oetinger Verlag in July 2021.
